Rockridge Comes Alive with Music and Art As Rock-N-Stroll Returns to College Avenue

The Rockridge District Association invites the community to experience one of Oakland’s most unique neighborhood celebrations when Rock-N-Stroll returns to Rockridge on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 11am to 4pm. Along the one-mile stretch of College Avenue, visitors will discover a lively mix of over 50 local artists and makers (many from the neighborhood), live music from over 20 bands, sales and pop up shops, exceptional dining, family activities, and special promotions—all while exploring one of the Bay Area’s most beloved commercial districts.

Unlike a traditional street festival, Rock-N-Stroll keeps College Avenue open to traffic while transforming businesses, sidewalks, patios, and public spaces into a walkable celebration of Rockridge’s creative spirit. Guests are encouraged to stroll at their own pace, stopping to enjoy performances, browse artisan displays, sample local flavors, and meet the neighborhood businesses that make Rockridge a year-round destination.

This year’s event features more than 50 local artists and 20-plus bands and musicians performing throughout the district. From handcrafted ceramics, paintings, jewelry, textiles, prints, and photography to live demonstrations and interactive activities, Rock-N-Stroll showcases the incredible talent found throughout Oakland and the East Bay.

Restaurants, cafés, bakeries, wine bars, and specialty food businesses will offer seasonal treats, tastings, and event-only specials, while retailers will host pop-ups, sidewalk sales, giveaways, and exclusive promotions. Whether visitors are searching for original artwork, unique gifts, vintage treasures, or a memorable meal, Rock-N-Stroll offers something for every interest.

Families will find plenty to enjoy throughout the day, including face painting, children's art activities, hands-on creative workshops, and interactive experiences designed for young visitors. Four-legged family members are welcome, too, with pet-friendly businesses offering water stations, treats, and fundraisers for the local shelters.

“Rock-N-Stroll celebrates everything that makes Rockridge special—our independent businesses, talented local artists, incredible musicians, and welcoming neighborhood atmosphere,” said Jody Colley, Rockridge District Association. “It’s an opportunity to spend the day discovering new favorites while supporting the local businesses and creative community that help Oakland thrive.”

Admission is free, and the event is open to all ages. Public transportation is encouraged, with Rockridge BART station located just a short walk from the festivities. Parking is also available throughout the district.
