On Sunday, October 18th, students at Peralta Elementary will take millions of steps around the block our school calls home. They do it for the fun, for the challenge, and for the support we need from our community to maintain the culture of learning that our little school is known for. This beloved event is the Walkathon: Peralta’s annual kid-powered fundraiser.
As a public school in Oakland, we depend on the good will of our community to fill gaps left by funding shortfalls at the district, state, and federal levels. While we wish we could just walk for joy, the Walkathon is a vital source of annual funding for essential staff and services.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to this amazing event or becoming a corporate sponsor with high visibility to over 300 families who love to buy local.
For questions or details about the event, email walkathon@peraltaschool.org.
