Built by over 1,300 volunteers in 2001 and sustained over the years by volunteer maintenance, partnership with the City of Oakland and generous donations, Frog Park is a testament to the power of a community-driven vision.
The vision continues this coming Earth Day — roll up your sleeves and make a difference in the Rockridge neighborhood. The Frog Park Earth Day Cleanup takes place on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, from 9am to noon, and everyone is welcome.

As part of this national day of action to care for our parks and green spaces, the Friends of the Rockridge-Temescal Greenbelt (FROG) is hosting a fun, family-friendly cleanup at our beloved neighborhood park. Whether you’re young or young at heart, you can help make Frog Park sparkle.
FROG will provide all the tools and gloves you need, plus snacks and coffee generously supplied by Rockridge and Temescal merchants. Just bring your own water bottle to help cut down on plastic waste. Together, we’ll:
- Weed, trim, and rake
- Sweep and sift sand
- Refresh the play structures
- Clean up the dog park and basketball court
Students needing service hours can get their forms signed on the spot. Check in and get deployed at the Big Frog play structure—your hub for all the action!
Come be part of this lively community effort and leave Frog Park looking its best. Let’s celebrate Earth Day by giving back to the place we love—one rake, sweep, and smile at a time.
Special thanks to Former City Councilmember Treva Reid and our dedicated Rockridge volunteers. For more information about the park, visit https://www.frogpark.org/.
