Dear Editor:
As Rockridge residents, we are lucky to live in an area with lots of transit. While BART may be the biggest presence in the neighborhood, we also have a range of AC Transit bus lines that may do just as much work: the 51A, 51B, and 36 converge at the Rockridge BART station, and other lines run on Alcatraz, Telegraph, and 51st Street. They carry faculty and staff to Cal, students like my daughter to Oakland Tech, seniors to appointments at Kaiser and Pill Hill, and me to work in Berkeley every day.
AC Transit is run by an elected board, and we have a great chance in November to improve the quality of our representation by voting for Adriana Valencia for AC Transit Board of Directors, Ward 3.
Adriana, a former Rockridge resident, is the right person for AC Transit. She has made service reliability her top priority. She’s also committed to keeping costs low for riders and making AC Transit a more transparent organization.
Public transit across California is facing lots of challenges, and AC Transit is no exception. Please vote for Adriana Valencia for AC Transit Board to improve bus service in Rockridge.
