The Friends of the Rockridge Library (FORL) and branch staff are organizing a community celebration on September 19, from 11am to 2pm. Featuring activities for all ages, the “Check It Out!” party will be held at the library in honor of the 30th anniversary of the location.
The Rockridge Trio of classical musicians will entertain guests while they browse historical photographs and enjoy popcorn and cake. Participants will also have the opportunity to purchase prints of original artwork commissioned by FORL for the occasion. Additionally, there will be a bounce house and crafts for kids and adults alike, including tote-bag stamping.
To support the next 30 years of the Rockridge Library, FORL has launched a “$30 for 30” fundraising campaign. Through generous donations from the community, FORL is able to purchase materials and fund programs that would otherwise be unattainable.
Recent examples of FORL support include air conditioning for library staff offices, furniture for the children’s area, bookshelves for featured collections, movable work desks, and the Zenbooth private meeting space.
